„Ice Cold Saint“ hat mich sofort in seinen Bann gezogen – diese Mischung aus Spannung, dunkler Romantik und einem Hauch Gefahr ist einfach unwiderstehlich. Saint ist ein harter Knochen, ein Typ, den man entweder verachtet oder vergöttert, und genau das macht ihn so spannend. Er jagt eine angebliche Mörderin, Alice, die mit ihrer geheimnisvollen Ausstrahlung ebenso verführerisch wie undurchschaubar ist. Ständig fragt man sich: Ist sie die Verbrecherin oder doch die Frau, die Saint rettet – und am Ende sein Herz erobert?
Die Handlung lässt einen kaum Luft holen, denn der Thriller-Charakter ist klasse mit einer richtig heißen Prise Romantik verknüpft. Cynthia Edens Schreibstil ist direkt und fesselnd, mit einem knackigen Tempo, das nie langweilig wird. Die Dialoge sprühen vor Schlagfertigkeit und Tiefgang zugleich, besonders wenn Saint und Alice aufeinandertreffen – ich habe oft grinsen müssen oder war einfach nur gebannt.
Was mir richtig gut gefallen hat: Die Charaktere sind nicht glattgebügelte Helden, sondern haben Ecken und Kanten. Saint ist kein typischer Retter, und Alice glänzt nicht nur durch ihre mysteriöse Aura. Die Dynamik zwischen den beiden knistert heftig und bringt eine tolle Spannung ins Buch. Einziger klitzekleiner Minuspunkt: Manche Wendungen sind etwas vorhersehbar, und hier und da hätte ich mir mehr Überraschungen gewünscht.
Fazit: Wer Lust hat auf einen dunklen, sexy Thriller mit starken Figuren und einer Prise Romantik, der ist bei „Ice Cold Saint“ goldrichtig. Eine intensive Story, die man am besten bei einem einzigen Rutsch durchliest. Für Fans von spannungsgeladenen Liebesgeschichten mit einem Hauch Gefahr absolut empfehlenswert.

Problem. What if she’s not guilty?
When Alice saves his life, Saint realizes there is more to her than meets the eye. Maybe she’s using him, maybe everything is a game to her, or maybe…maybe Alice is the real victim in the story and not the villain. Unlikely, but…what if? What if all along someone else was attacking from the dark? What if someone else is determined to claim Alice, to eliminate all other men from her life?
And what if Saint might just wind up losing the one person he needs above all others?
